Roger Nicolas started dreaming as a young boy growing up on his parents farm in a remote countryside village of Brittany, France.
When he landed in New York City at the age of 20 he believed dreams could come true… Ten years later… After working in some of the most prestigious restaurants in the United States, including La Grenouille in New York City, The Lodge at Pebble Beach and L’Etoile in San Francisco, Roger realized one of his first dreams of opening his own restaurant in San Francisco called La Potiniere.
Ten years later… He gained international acclaim as the founder and owner of The Home Hill country inn and restaurant in New Hampshire, now a famous Relais & Chateaux, this had been another dream.
Ten years later… Roger thought it was time to play. In his restaurant career he developed a profound passion for wine. Another dream was being transformed. The search was on to find the perfect land for a vineyard.
Ten years later… In fall of 2005, he released his first vintage of RN ESTATE Wines. Roger is still dreaming with a passion and belief, that some day he will assemble one of the best red wines grown in Paso Robles.
